Meet Our Founder
Alexandra “Alex” Eaton
My years in BigLaw gave me firsthand insight into the realities attorneys face: long hours, high-pressure environments, challenging personalities, and difficult career decisions. I bring that perspective into recruiting, guiding attorneys at every stage — from law students and junior associates to senior counsel and partners — toward opportunities that align not just with their skills, but with their values and long-term goals.
I specialize in recruitment across all practice areas, both in firms and in-house, and support attorneys navigating career advancement, lateral moves, or relocations nationwide. My mission is simple: to help every attorney I work with find not just the next step in their career, but the right step.
I graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Mass Communications. Before transferring to UF, I competed as a Division I cross country runner at the University of Georgia on an athletic scholarship. I later earned my J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where I received a Dean’s Scholarship and served as Symposium Editor for the Journal of International Law.
I split my time between New York and Los Angeles (Santa Monica), and when I’m not working with attorneys, you can find me at Pure Barre or Pilates, running with the Venice Run Club, working on my golf game, or volunteering with the Junior League.
I know how demanding life as a lawyer can be — and how overwhelming it feels to consider changing jobs on top of it. That’s why I founded Aligned Legal Search LLC: to give attorneys a transparent, empowering recruiting experience that feels authentic and supportive. As a female- and minority-owned firm, we’re committed to creating a more human, emotionally intelligent, and inclusive approach to legal recruiting.
Before launching Aligned, I worked at a leading national legal recruiting firm, placing attorneys at top law firms and in-house roles across the country. Prior to recruiting, I practiced as a corporate associate in Jones Day’s Corporate Practice Group in New York, focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions. During that time, I also engaged in pro bono work supporting women with custody, child support, and divorce matters — experiences that shaped my perspective as both an advocate and a recruiter, and deepened my ability to connect with people during pivotal career moments.
